The artist behind Wrongcards says that a refusal to court mainstream appeal is what has made the cards so popular. He proudly claims that Wrongcards are different from the typical snarky and sarcastic e cards in that they are designed to be funny in more of a wrong and sociopathic kind of way.
The popular men's website Askmen.com has called the cards "manly greetings", and the site Thrillist raved about their bent tone. The company that began as an independent art experiment has transformed into a startup this year, and they are now selling postcard boxes on Amazon.com as well as all the free online ecards available on their site.
